Issue 9 / Business CW 4

FROM THE

CHAMBER BOARD

Chamber President Raoul Behr

Dear Entrepreneurs,

In last months’ edition we emphasized on the need to build businesses that can respond when circumstances change. That remains a pressing challenge. International trade and energy conditions continue to shift, and for an island economy like Curaçao, those changes can affect costs, supplies and business

confidence close to home.

Resilience starts with reliable conditions in which businesses can operate. It also grows when entrepreneurs have the knowledge, contacts and confidence to pursue opportunities beyond the markets they already know. This month brings an important step

in that direction.

I had the privilege of signing on behalf of the Curaçao Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a founding member of the new Council of Chambers of Commerce of the Americas (CCCAM). I have also been elected to its Board as Vice President for the Caribbean region.

For our Chamber, this is an opportunity to bring Curaçao’s perspective into a wider conversation and to build connections that can serve our entrepreneurs. The article alongside this foreword shares more about the Council and what its plans could mean for our business community. Those connections matter most when entrepreneurs can use them. Our upcoming events offer chances to do just that. During Curaçao Groeit, entrepreneurs can exchange ideas and build relationships with

businesses from the Netherlands.

An incoming business mission from Trinidad and Tobago will create another opportunity to meet potential partners closer to home. Whether a conversation leads to a new customer, a supplier or simply a fresh way of thinking, every meaningful connection can help a business grow.

We will continue our educational webinars and other practical sessions alongside these networking opportunities. Learning and connecting go hand in hand: the more prepared entrepreneurs are, the

better placed they are to recognize an opening and act on it.

I encourage you to explore this special edition, take part in the opportunities ahead and consider

one question: which connection could help your business take its next step?

"....connections matter most when entrepreneurs can use them."
