Curaçao Chamber
Kompas Business Mixer 2026
Turning Economic Growth into Lasting Development
Curaçao’s economic growth must build a stronger, more diverse and resilient economy. That was the Chamber’s central message at our Business Mixer, where we presented our Curaçao 2035 vision as a framework for investment, entrepreneurship and economic development. Growth measures how much the economy expands; development concerns what that expansion builds. Tourism remains essential, but stronger local supply chains, higher productivity and new activities
must generate greater economic value.
Trade Register figures underline the need for closer analysis. Over 3,400 businesses registered in the first nine months of 2026, approximately 38% more than a year earlier. Yet active registered
businesses declined by around 5%, a development requiring further investigation.
The vision connects five transitions: economy, talent, resilience, innovation and implementation. Concrete Chamber initiatives include the proposed BedrijfsKompas Curaçao, using registry data for economic analysis and advice, and a policy proposal for a more level tax playing field for
qualifying self-employed entrepreneurs.
The Chamber also advocates assessing investment incentives more selectively, prioritizing diversification, productivity and innovation. Opportunities include digital infrastructure, AI,
maritime services, sustainable energy and innovative food production.
Government must facilitate and guide development, while entrepreneurs turn opportunities into
businesses, jobs and value.
The question is: what will Curaçao build with its growth? Read the full press release here
