FROM THE
CHAMBER BOARD
Chamber President Raoul Behr
Dear Visionary Entrepreneurs,
Global developments continue to shape our local reality. The recent “Trump Tariff Turmoil” has stirred international trade flows and impacted prices across various sectors. As an island economy heavily reliant on imports and external markets, Curaçao must remain vigilant and adaptive to these shifts. In times of global uncertainty, new opportunities arise.
Our region offers several practical avenues for diversification and growth. Short-term activities such as the Dutch Caribbean Mission to Colombia, the Feria Agroalimentaria in Santo Domingo, the Suriname Oil and Gas Conference, the Feria Mundial Zona Libre in Panama, and the digital matchmaking initiative with Barranquilla companies in agriculture and food products all provide tangible opportunities for entrepreneurs ready to expand. Locally, the Curaçao Chamber proudly continues to modernize its services
services with the launch of an online excerpt purchase platform, making it easier for businesses
instantly access a copy of their excerpt.
We also recently had the honor of facilitating the visit of the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, Mr. Beljaarts, who jointly met with the Chamber, VBC, and CINEX leadership to discuss economic development opportunities for Curaçao. Tourism arrivals have seen another month of growth, reinforcing the positive momentum in one of our key economic pillars. Furthermore, in May, the Chamber will continue hosting a series of free educational webinars designed to support and
strengthen our entrepreneurial community.

Together, let’s continue to build a resilient and thriving Curaçao.
