Outline Agreement
The Governments of Curaçao and the Netherlands have proudly signed an outline agreement to jointly explore the possibilities for developing a sustainable hydrogen economy in Curaçao. The hydrogen economy offers enormous potential for both Curaçao and the Netherlands. With this agreement, both governments commit to investigating a robust infrastructure for the production, storage, and distribution of green hydrogen. This agreement marks an important first step towards a climate-neutral energy supply and strengthens the economic ties between the two countries within the Kingdom. This cooperation will contribute to reducing CO2 emissions, increasing energy security, and creating new jobs and economic opportunities.

Curaçao became the newest associate member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), a bloc promoting economic integration and cooperation across a region of largely small island developing states Curaçao joined the group during a ceremony at the opening of the organization's heads of government summit in Grenada on July 28, 2024, where leaders were set to discuss issues such as the growing impact of climate change.
