Dear Dutch Kingdom Maritime representatives,
It has become a recent tradition that Dutch maritime companies have participated in the Congresses of Central American and Caribbean ports (Costa Rica - 2016, Dominican Republic - 2018, Guatemala – 2019, El Salvador – 2021, Honduras 2022), all were a success, especially for networking and getting to know about upcoming tenders and modernization/investment plans. Therefore we want to inform you that this year the Congress will take place in Managua, Nicaragua from 25th – 29th of September 2023.
This event is organized by the Comisión Centroamericana de Transporte Marítimo (COCATRAM), Empresa Portuaria Nacional (EPN) and Dirección General de Transporte Acuático (DGTA). You can find a preliminary agenda of the event of speakers in the attachment. Some of the themes that will be discussed during this Congress are;
· Development Opportunities for the Port System in the SICA Countries
· Expectations, Challenges, Opportunities and Trends of the Shipping Industry
in the Latin American Scope
· Promoting the Development of the Maritime Port Industry of the Region
· Challenges for Strengthening Port Environmental Management
· Generating Value Added Activities in Supply Chains
· Port protection
· Digitalisation and Port Automation
There are also site visits planned to Puerto Corinto (Bulk and General Purpose Terminal Operator). Representatives from all mayor ports in Central America will participate in this event.
We think this event offers an excellent opportunity for networking and identifying/following up on business opportunities !
We have received the cost of participation/stands and have negotiated that we can get the a larger combined/shared stand, the cost per participant/company will amount to $1.500-1.750 to be in the shared Kingdom of the Netherlands stand or you could decide for a stand-alone booth (2m x 2m) for $3.000. Spaces are very limited to 6-8 companies so it will be one a first come first served basis that we will reserve the spaces available.
